Description
Proactive Problem Management is the method used for identifying underlying potential problems before they can surface as incidents. This requires strong analytical skills to perform activities like trend and pattern analysis of the IT environment, alerts/notifications received from monitoring tools approaching their thresholds and interpretation of findings unbiased by assumptions. The Problem Manager must also undertake the activity of obtaining the list of defects or minor faults in new application, system or releases that are known to be deployed into production. This is done so that workarounds can be kept ready for any incident that can occur due to these defects.
